He started drinking out of a cup with a straw just yesterday, and he refuses to be on his stomach for more than a few seconds. Instead, he pulls himself to standing and takes off walking while holding onto our hands. But while walking, he tries to wriggle his hands out of ours, because he seems to think he doesn't need our help anymore. He takes a huge step with his left foot, and then evens himself out with the right. Some days he looks like he's marching, and other days he actually walks in circles. haha. He's so much fun, and David and I love every minute we spend with him. The pictures above are a few we took while camping with our house church July 4th weekend. Also, there's a little slideshow of pictures we have taken recently. We went to the zoo for the first time a few weekends ago. Kole loved it. But he was so fascinated by the people and all the new surroundings that he missed most of the animals. haha. Oh well...at least he had fun!
I hope everyone is doing well. I'll try to update the blog more often. I know everyone wants more pics of Kole. So I'll do my best. We love you all!

Update

In case you haven't noticed, it's been awhile since I've updated the blog. Been a little busy. At the end of May, Koleson and my parents and I went ot South Carolina to visit my mom's parents, or Koleson's great grandparents. Kole got his first taste of the extremely hot weather, the pool, and the beach. He loved every minute of it. And so did his great grandparents! But his Dad was very happy to see him again! haha

He's been gabbing up a storm lately, making all sorts of new sounds at random times of the day. It soundas like he says "Hey" and "Hi Dad" quite a bit. He's a jumping and giggling machine, and an all around angel baby with an extremely happy disposition. We just recently moved the bar on his little car jumper, and he can push it down the hall now. He can sit up all on his own and rock back and forth. Every once and awhile he can pull himself up, but he doesn't have the balance to keep himself standing. He gets up on all fours to crawl and rocks back and forth, but he hasn't taken the first scoots quite yet. I'm hoping that videos of all this will follow shortly, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to get all of it uploaded to the computer from my phone.

He's teething like crazy, he's always soaked with slobber, but is still all gums. We keep hoping some will pop through at any time. In the meantime, we are feeding him baby food and formula, along with littel puffs and things that will dissolve easily in his mouth. He's getting his own personality, and it's been a lot of fun. He's getting a lot more blonde hair, and it's starting to get a little wave to it, so I'm excited!

One of the best things about it all is that he's a total ham. If you put my phone or the camera up to him, he recognizes what it is. He'll start bouncing up and down and talking to show off for the camera. David says he gets that from me. I think he's right. Better than being camera shy! He's into everything he can get his hands on, so it keeps David and I busy. But we're having the best time of our lives the three of us!

My How Time Flies

So it's been way too long I realize. Koleson will be 6 months old a week from yesterday. He's starting to like being on his belly, and he moves his arms and sticks his butt up in the air. He's trying his best to get anywhere he can, the little squirm worm he is. haha. This morning I went to go get him out of his crib because he was whining, and he was on his stomach with his head up in the air. That's the first time he's rolled over from his back to his front. He sits up pretty well, but he loses his balance pretty easily, so we have to use our hands and bumper pads. He started cereal about 2 weeks ago, and Wednesday, he ate his first bowl of cereal out of a high chair. It's amazing how fast they grow up. He's grabbing at everything now, and nothing is safe. He's pulled my earrings out twice, and he seems to think it's funny when Mom screams because he's yanking my hair out. haha. But he's the most precious gift anyone's ever given me, besides my husband. I'll have pictures up in the next couple of days. I just had to get in some bragging time for my little, (or not so little), prince. He's almost 19 pounds, and stronger than me (ok, which isn't saying much, I admit). But he is definitely the life of the party. He won't sit anymore. We call him our little jumping bean because he just wants to stand and jump any waking moment. He whines when you put him down. He seems to be teething pretty intensely right now, slobbering all over the place, and having trouble taking naps. But no teeth yet. We'll keep you posted. If you check back here tomorrow, I'll have some newer pictures too!

Here Comes Trouble!

So you'll see here that Koleson and his cousin Abby are already getting into trouble together! This picture was taken this past Saturday. Koleson is about 3 1/2 months old now, and he's able to sit up on his own, with the help of a chair back or something similar. He's growing so fast and can now hold entire conversations with just himself. But here, he and his cousin are plotting their next big sabotage of Grammy and Paw-Paw's house...BEWARE!

Our First Christmas

Our first Christmas with the little one was a blast. Our Koleson Alexander was born on October 23rd at 7 pounds 2 ounces and 19 1/2 inches. Since then, he's grown like a weed. At his 2 month check up he was 13 pounds 6 ounces and 24 inches long. He's talking and cooing, and smiling and laughing now, which makes him a lot of fun. He got a car from Nanna and G-pa that is a jumper. He's been in it only once, but he absolutely loved it. And his favorite things are sticking his tongue out and hearing new noises. Both always bring a smile to his face. We're so thankful for all the wonderful time spent with the best 2 families we could ever ask for.
